During the US government shutdown earlier this month, the company I work for was furloughed and I was sent home unsure of when I would be called back to start work again. I am thankful for this experience for a few reasons: 1) I had a day off where I could paint, but 2) God used the furlough to show me how dependent I was becoming on money and how I allowed that to misdirect where I was putting my trust. As I was able to reflect on what was happening, God opened my eyes and gave me peace amongst my inner storm. After that, I was blessed with a phone call from my boss telling me we could come back to work the next day, God is good.
Fasm painted this live in Foster City, CA at an outdoor church service.

Every year Gospel Graffiti crew plans and embarks on a journey to a major city where we use our talents to share God’s hope for humanity. We call this mural mission our auGGust event and this year we will be painting in Holland with our local crewmates there. The whole crew teamed up to design this shirt to help fund the travel and paint for the trip. Each artist has created the word “gospel” in their own style to fit around our GG logo. This building really needed a splash of color. It’s in an industrial area so it really felt good to pretty it up. What a great organization to paint it on as well. I’m so thankful they(and the volunteers) are providing food to our community.
A little mini/practice piece I did.

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
